ADVANCED SLEEP DISORDER TESTING SERVICE

In 1989 Respitech Medical opened a Diagnostic Division specializing in diagnostic and therapeutic testing for sleep disordered breathing.  Respitech Medical, Inc., performs sleep disorder testing using only state of the art computerized testing equipment.  Through our partnership with Sleep Disorder Associates of Lancaster, Respitech performs testing 7 days a week in a newly renovated facility on-site.  In addition, Respitech is contracted with numerous hospitals throughout Pennsylvania, parts of New York, New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland to perform testing.

We currently specialize in portable, attended, polysomnography.  With a prescription from a physician, we are able to perform tests on adults, adolescents, or infants.  The sleep study generally begins at 9:00 P.M. and is usually completed by 7:00 A.M.  A trained technician continuously monitors the study throughout the test to provide complete and accurate documentation.  If certain apnea criteria are met, nasal CPAP may be initiated to determine patient compliance and optimal pressure settings.  Occasionally, a second study is required to accomplish CPAP titration.  A complete analysis and technician report is usually available for interpretation within two to three hours following the termination of the sleep study.

We maintain a complete and current quality assurance program which includes patient and physician satisfaction surveys as well as thorough bi-annual equipment safety testing.  Our procedures and policies follow all local, state and federal laws that govern this type of testing facility.
